What Makes Us Different
Unlike other ABA therapy clinics, we’re proud to be privately owned by parents whose son with autism has made tremendous progress due to ABA. They founded Steps to Progress because they wanted their son and other children in the Houston community to have access to the best ABA therapy.
Meet Our ABA Therapy Clinical Team
Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
Our BCBAs have over 47 years of combined experience in providing exceptional ABA to children with autism. They all have extensive experience in working with children with autism both as therapists and as BCBAs. Our BCBAs collaborate with each other on an ongoing basis to ensure that therapy is tailored to the specific needs of each client.
We believe strongly that our BCBAs should continue to learn about developments in the field of ABA and explore additional ways in which they can help our clients. As a result, our BCBAs attend conferences and training beyond the annual BACB requirements so that they can continue to grow and develop their skills.

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)
Competent, College Educated
The Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) does not require a college degree for a therapist to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). However, we require that all of our therapists have college degrees. We expect our RBTs to be able to “think on their feet” and adjust to their client. We believe that the process of obtaining a college degree results in the additional maturity and critical thinking skills necessary to enable them to maximize their clients’ development.
Two Clinic Locations
Our clinics are located across the street from each other at 3500 and 3600 South Gessner. Each location has an indoor play area. Our 3500 S. Gessner location also has a covered outdoor area for clients to play games, ride in a wagon or tricycle, and enjoy the outdoors. Both locations have accessible drop-off/pick-up lines so that parents do not need to park when bringing their children for therapy sessions.
Observation is a key element in ABA therapy. While our therapy rooms are enclosed, each room has at least one window so that therapy can be easily observed from outside the room. Each room is also equipped with a camera so that therapy can be observed remotely. We have TV monitors in our BCBA offices so that they can see their clients from their office as well as when they are out in the clinic.
Whether it’s providing play areas or teaching skill sessions, it’s our goal to give your child the best in-clinic experience possible. Get in touch with us to schedule an in-person tour.
We’re proud to be members of The Council of Autism Service Providers, a non-profit association of nonprofit and for-profit agencies serving individuals with autism spectrum disorders. The mission of CASP is to cultivate, share and advocate for best practices in autism services. CASP is committed to ensuring quality, safe and effective care for the individuals served by our member organizations. CASP requires that member organizations promote and implement evidence-based practices within their agency.
Steps to Progress Has You Covered
We offer the highest quality of care by partnering with a number of major insurance providers. We currently do not accept Medicaid patients for ABA therapy. For other payment options or assistance, please feel free to reach out to us.
